The Essex Lifestyle Service, which is part of Provide Community Interest Company, is urging all Essex businesses to find out more about its Working Well programme.

The programme can deliver real benefits for employees and employers such as: improving job satisfaction; reducing staff turnover; increasing productivity and reducing absences due to ill health. It is free for Essex businesses and any size of organisation can take part.

Ellen Van Gemmert who runs the Essex Lifestyle Service said:

“The Working Well programme can help people to manage the stresses and strains that contribute to physical and mental ill health.

“At Provide we have embedded a workplace health promotion programme across all our services. The feedback has been very positive and there are now well-established Workplace Health Champions.  They regularly undertake activities to improve the health of their colleagues including: head and shoulder massages, static cycle challenges and lunchtime walks.

“We can train your employees to become Workplace Health Champions which will promote and foster an environment of health and wellbeing in your organisation.”

The Working Well programme includes MHFA England Mental Health First Aider training (this is a national training course but is delivered for free) and stress awareness training.  It can also offer stop smoking support, advice on healthy eating and can help employees to improve their physical activity.

Essex County Council has commissioned this service for Essex Businesses (excludes Southend and Thurrock).
