Convenient Blood-Taking Services for Patients at Home and in GP Surgeries
Overview
Our Domiciliary Phlebotomy Service offers convenient blood-taking services both at GP surgeries and in the comfort of patients’ own homes.
Eligibility Criteria
This service is specifically designed for:
• Housebound patients.
• Patients with a medical or learning disability who find it challenging to visit their surgery or local hospital.
• Please note, patients in nursing homes are not eligible for this service.
Service Details
Our team conducts blood-taking clinics on various mornings at several GP surgeries across the Colne Valley and Braintree Localities. Additionally, we offer a domiciliary service for housebound patients. Our staff are trained in anti-coagulation and utilise Coag-u-check machines for international normalised ratio (INR) patients.
Service Delivery Locations
Blood-taking clinics are available at GP surgeries in the following areas:
• Kelvedon, Tiptree, Marks Tey, Coggeshall, The Hedinghams, Earls Colne, Halstead, Finchingfield, Bardfield, Broomfield, The Walthams, Braintree, and surrounding villages.
We also provide a domiciliary blood-taking service for housebound patients.
Operating Hours
• Adults: Monday to Friday, 8am – 3.45pm.
• Children: Monday to Friday, 9am – 3pm.
Burnham Clinic:
• Appointments are available Monday to Friday, 12pm – 4pm. These must be booked in advance, walk-in appointments are not possible. Please call 01787 273117 to book.
Referral Process
Patients must be referred by their GP or hospital to access this service.
If you are registered with SystmOnline you will be able to view your own Electronic Medical Record (EMR), manage your appointments, request repeat medication, update contact details and message your healthcare service. There is also a SystmOnline app available for Apple and Android devices.
