Supporting Children to Thrive in Daily Activities
Introduction
Our Children’s Occupational Therapy Service is dedicated to helping children aged 0-19 who experience various functional difficulties that affect their daily life. This includes challenges with activities like dressing, toileting, feeding, using cutlery, handwriting, and fine as well as gross motor skills. We offer comprehensive assessments, practical advice, and, where necessary, individual or group interventions.
Who We Serve
This service is available to children and young people (up to 19 years old) who are in full-time education and registered with a GP in the NHS Mid Essex area, or those attending a special school within this region.
Our Expert Team
Our team comprises qualified Occupational Therapists and Occupational Therapy Assistants, all dedicated to supporting the unique needs of each child we work with.
Where to Find Us
Our primary base is at Stapleford House in Chelmsford. We are also equipped to provide visits in schools, nurseries, and homes as appropriate, working closely with the child’s broader support network, including educators and family/carers.
Referral Process
To access our Children’s Occupational Therapy services, a referral is required from a healthcare professional. This could be a community or acute paediatrician, a GP, a health visitor, or educational staff.
Children living outside our area but attending a special school within it may be eligible for services at their school premises.
