  • Essex-Based Mental Health Charity Receives £2,000 Donation to Fund New Counselling Services from Provide Community
Post Date:

Provide Community is delighted to announce that it is funding a series of new counselling services for Kids Inspire, a mental health charity specialising in emotional wellbeing support for young people across Essex and Chelmsford.

Governors from Provide Community paid a visit to the charity to present a cheque for £2,000 to several of its volunteers. The charity, which has been supporting local communities since 2007, offers a broad range of therapies to help treat young people who are struggling with their mental health and lack a close support network.

The £2,000 donation will be used to expand the charity’s tertiary counselling services, which have been designed to help build a greater sense of self-awareness in vulnerable young people and inspire them to make more positive life choices.

Kids Inspire was nominated for this donation by two of Provide Community’s colleagues who both felt that the charity would benefit from additional funding.

When asked about the nomination, one of Provide Community’s colleagues said; “My son and I were fortunate to benefit from the welcoming and professional support of Kids Inspire when he was referred to their services through school. We had had a change in the family, and I suffered for a period of time with my mental health. This made some impact on him, but foremost he was a boy generally struggling with his confidence, managing his emotions and sometimes behaviours”.

They continued; “He was offered a mentor. This volunteer, trained and supervised by Kids Inspire, used their own time to give to my son. They also offered me a block of counselling which supported my journey to improved health. There are many young people with emerging mental health difficulties that would benefit hugely from the support and therapeutic services this charity can provide”.

Paula Ashfield, Head of Fundraising at Kids Inspire, said; “We’d like to thank Provide Community for this generous sum of money that will allow us to offer additional therapy to our most complex cases”.
