Halstead Ward – Community Rehabilitation

Halstead Ward

Service Overview:

Halstead Ward is a 20 bed rehabilitation ward at Halstead Community Hospital.

Halstead Ward is a nurse led unit, and patients are reviewed and discussed at weekly MDTs. This comprises of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists and nurses who all deliver support tailored to the patients’ needs. Our therapists work with patients to set their own goals.

Patients who require rehabilitation are transferred to us from a variety of hospitals including, Colchester and Broomfield.

Patients admitted to Halstead ward will be supported to reach their optimal level of independence enabling them to return home or into interim placement depending on their individual needs. Patients and family can discuss with the therapy team, the progress made and what support will be required for a safe discharge from the ward.

When a patient is discharged, we complete a survey about their experience on the ward. However, patients can also complete our feedback survey (known and the Friends and Family Test) by clicking here or contacting customer services.
