Understanding Parkinson’s
Parkinson’s is the fastest-growing neurological condition worldwide. It’s a progressive condition in which parts of the brain deteriorate over several years, leading to three main symptoms: involuntary shaking (tremor), slow movement, and muscle stiffness.

Service Details
Our team of specialist clinicians provides support to individuals aged 18 and over who have received a confirmed diagnosis of Parkinson’s Disease. We take a holistic approach to managing the symptoms of Parkinson’s and offer support and advice to both patients and their caregivers.
Our services include medication reviews, addressing any concerns you may have, and facilitating access to additional services such as Speech and Language Therapy, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, and Dietetics. We can also provide information about local support groups in your area.

Our team delivers support for individuals living with Parkinson’s at various clinics across Mid Essex. We also offer:
- Home visits for those unable to attend clinics.
- Telephone appointments for added convenience.
- Visits to individuals in Care Homes.

Referral Process
To access our Parkinson’s Service, you must be referred by a healthcare professional, such as a GP or Consultant. Once we receive the referral, we will contact you to arrange an appointment at a suitable time and location.Â

If you are registered with SystmOnline you will be able to view your own Electronic Medical Record (EMR), manage your appointments, request repeat medication, update contact details and message your healthcare service. There is also a SystmOnline app available for Apple and Android devices.
