Who is the Service for?

Our Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy Service is designed for adults and children registered with a GP practice in Mid Essex experiencing new or worsening musculoskeletal conditions within the last 6 months. If your symptoms are not improving despite online support, explore our Self-Help section for more guidance. We apply inclusion, exclusion, and triage criteria as per our NHS commissioned agreement.

We provide a patient-centered approach under NHS care to manage musculoskeletal conditions. Our team of highly-trained, state-registered physiotherapists offers a range of specialist skills for assessing, diagnosing, and treating musculoskeletal problems. We ensure care is tailored to your individual needs following a thorough assessment, ensuring you understand your condition and the treatment options available.

Accessing Our Service

• Self-Referral for Adults: Easily self-refer to our physiotherapy services through our dedicated website Provide Physiotherapy.
• Referral from Healthcare Professionals: Referrals from your GP, specialists, or other healthcare professionals are also accepted.
• Triage and Waiting List: All referrals are triaged against NHS criteria, with accepted referrals prioritized and added to our waiting list. You will receive an SMS or letter acknowledgment.

Face-to-face appointments, following a virtual assessment, are offered at:

• St Peter’s Hospital, Maldon

Your First Virtual/Telephone Appointment

• Preparation: Complete a health questionnaire via the AirMid App or with our Care Coordination Centre.
• Joining Your Appointment: Receive a link via SMS or email for your video consultation or a phone call for telephone appointments.
• Assessment and Advice: An initial assessment will determine if physiotherapy is suitable for you. Please wear appropriate clothing for assessment. You’ll receive advice and guidance, with follow-up appointments arranged as needed.
• Cancellation Policy: Provide at least 24-hour notice for cancellations.
