We are delighted to announce that Provide Community has won the Private Sector Community Award at the 2022 Essex Countywide Business Awards.

The award recognises organisations who actively support and contribute to their local community through fundraising, mentoring and donations.

As Provide Community grows and thrives, we are able to give more back to transform services, support those most in need and invest in the next generation of health and social care professionals.

As a not-for-profit Community Interest Company, we are owned by our 1,200 employee members. This means every staff member has a say in how our organisation is run, and where our surplus profits are reinvested, including service innovation, donations and grants. In 2022, we have trebled our community donations and grants to more than £500,000.

Provide Community works with a mission to ‘transform lives through care, innovation and compassion,’ so we are delighted and extremely proud to accept this award on behalf of our amazing colleagues across Essex and beyond.

Our colleagues work from NHS and community settings across the county to provide more than 50 health and social care services to children, families, and adults across Essex. It is these talented, dedicated, caring people who enable us to transform lives every day.

Provide Community is also one of three organisations that make up Mid and South Essex Community Collaborative (MSECC), which has been nationally recognised as a regional exemplar for its sharing of best practice, collaboration and innovation to improve the quality and efficiency of health and social care services.

On accepting the award, Provide Community Group CEO Mark Heasman commented: “I am incredibly proud to lead an organisation that is fuelled by caring, talented people who deliver our values of care, innovation and compassion every day.

“Provide Community is a business with an agile mindset that can respond and adapt to the challenges of our sector. It’s an innovative business where we are continually supporting that transformation and investing in ways we can make services more accessible and better for our patients and colleagues.

“Unusually in our sector, Provide Community is employee-owned. That means that every member has a say in how the business is run, and how we reinvest our surpluses. We are supported by a Board of Governors, who represent members and work hard across the business to support best practice.

“The amazing contribution made by Provide Community colleagues in community hospitals, clinics, homes and businesses every day reinforces our values of care, innovation and compassion. This award is for every one of you.”
