Tailored Therapeutic Support for SEND: Nurturing Potential in Every Child
Overview
Our Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) Therapies Service is dedicated to providing Occupational Therapy (OT), Physiotherapy (PT), and Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) to children with Education and Health Care Plans (EHCP) across Essex, excluding Southend-on-Sea and Thurrock. This service is commissioned by Essex County Council to specifically deliver therapy outlined in a child or young person’s EHCP.
Who Is This Service For? Eligibility Criteria
Children with an Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP) are eligible for support from our service, upon receiving a referral from Essex County Council’s SEND team. Children and young people are discharged from our service when their EHCP is ceased or when therapy provision is no longer required or detailed in their EHCP. We maintain close collaboration with educational institutions, schools, families, and other professionals to ensure the most appropriate provision and support is in place and regularly reviewed.
